MIPECO was founded in 1992 by the architect and engineer Irene Tsiakka, who heads the company to date. The first offices of the company were in Chalandri, Athens with the year 1998 being a landmark, as MIPECO’s headquarters were transferred to new privately owned facilities in Paiania, East Attica.
MIPECO has been showing the way in building materials since its inception. It was the first company in Greece to systematically start informing engineers, manufacturers and crews about the use of corner beads and other profiles of Catnic products for the best finishing of plasters. In addition, MIPECO first introduced the use of grid masonry reinforcement instead of conventional chainage (cement rings).
However, MIPECO did not stop there! In a very short period of time, the company turned to the promotion of other pioneering and certified materials from abroad, which provided and continue to provide solutions to particular requirements of architects, especially for ventilated facades, roofs, soundproofing and sound absorbing.
Today, MIPECO has an extensive and organized network of dealers which promotes its materials across Greece. In spite of the difficult times, MIPECO, with professionalism and responsibility, continues to grow and looks to future with optimism for the company and its partners.
Finally, an important decision taken by MIPECO in recent years is the selection of companies and materials certified according to the latest environmental standards (LEED, BREEAM, DGNB etc) which lead to sustainability, respect for the environment and a better future for the next generations!
